There will be a special evening of music on Wednesday May 5th. Father and son will join together for one last concert at the M - A PAC. The concert, which will begin at 7:00 p.m. and is free to the public, will feature Frank Moura's Concert Band and Advanced Jazz Band and Son Chris Moura's Wind Ensemble.

Chris Moura's band regularly garners superior ratings at concert band festivals. Over this past new years holiday his Oak Grove High School group performed in Paris and London to enthusiastic crowds.

The M-A Concert band is preparing for a band competition in Los Angeles and will be opening the concert. The Jazz band is coming off a 3rd place finish at the Reno International Jazz Festival. This year over 230 jazz groups participated in the two day competition. This year the jazz band is led by a rhythm section that was voted the outstanding rhythm section in the double A division. At the Reno Jazz Festival guitarist Lucas del Calvo won the "Outstanding Rhythm Player"award. Only 2 of these medals were handed out at a festival that featured over 5,000 musicians. Vocalist Holly Smolik has won many awards for her stylings of such tunes as "Angel Eyes" and "Black Coffee".

Come down and be a part of the evening festivities and enjoy the varied musical offerings of these talented young musicians.
